Like many other Web frameworks, WebWork requires a number of configuration files to determine how it should work.
File | Purpose |

web.xml | Web deployment descriptor to include all necessary WebWork components |
xwork.xml | Main configuration, contains result/view types, action mappings, interceptors, etc |
webwork-default.xml | Default configuration that should be included in xwork.xml |
webwork.properties | WebWork properties |
velocity.properties | Override the default velocity configuration |
validators.xml | Define input validators to be used later |
