Anyone can contribute to Apache Flex: Translation, Design, Documentation, Concepts, code - whatever you think matters. Even writing to the mailing-list is considered contributing. Persons that can change things are called a "commiter".

Non-commiters You have just to take two , - small , - hurdles to become a commiter:

1) Contribute something

You First: you need to contribute something. Again: you can contribute whatever you like. ! Use the mailing-list or Jira and request if to pass your contribution is interesting to the Flex . The chances are high that good things will be taken immediately.community.

2) Get voted in

To become trusted all a commiter you need to do is getting be voted in by the team. Make yourself a little known and ask the mailing list to become a commiter. Unless you insult people it shouldn't be a problem. The team is expected to be scouting for people with passion all the time. If you feel overlooked: Don't feel shy to ask for becoming a commiter.
