• Install VirtualBox(https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads) on your machine.
  • Note: If you are on Mac OS X(10.6 or below), must enable 64bit(http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3773)
• Download DevCloud image from http://download.cloud.com/templates/devcloud/DevCloud.ova into your machine.
• Import DevCloud.ova into VirtualBox:
  • Open VirtualBox, File->Import Appliance->choose DevCloud.ova
  • Use the default configuration
  • NOTE: please do NOT select "re-initialize the MAC address of all network cards"
• Start devcloud VM

2. Install development tools

• aptitude install openjdk-6-jdk ant 
• install maven3
  • sudo add-apt-repository ppa:natecarlson/maven3
  • aptitude update
  • aptitude install maven3
• install jsch
  • Download jsch-0.1.48.jar from http://sourceforge.net/projects/jsch/files/jsch.jar/0.1.48/jsch-0.1.48.jar/download^{Image Added}
  • cp jsch-0.1.48.jar /usr/share/ant/lib/

3. Download source code

• Download latest source code release from http://people.apache.org/~chipchilders/cloudstack/4.0/, e.g http://people.apache.org/~chipchilders/cloudstack/4.0/apache-cloudstack-4.0.0.beta3-incubating-src.zip^{Image Removed}
• mkdir -p ~/cloudstack; cd ~/cloudstack
• wget http://people.apache.org/~chipchilders/cloudstack/4.0/apache-cloudstack-4.0.0.beta3-incubating-src.zip^{Image Removed}
• unzip apache-cloudstack-4.0.0.beta3-incubating-src.zip4. Compile Compile

• mvn -P deps
• ant clean-all build-all

5. Compile

• ant rdeploy
•   Deploy
