Post-Meeting Summary

Some random notes...

  • Christopher Ball is interested in loading data with Scala / Akka into Solr as fast as possible. 
  • CloudSolrClient:  Carlos's experience is that without this (or if it misbehaves) Solr may use too many threads on the server side to distribute incoming documents.
  • PRS:  David proposed making it the default in Solr 10 but will take it up on the dev list.  Nobody in the meeting was usingit.
  • Christopher: "Vision" vs "Roadmap"; not the same
  • V2 API: incremental progress; probably won't achieve any particular milestone aligning with Solr 10
  • SolrJ without Apache HttpClient – we'll get there for 10
