Only two fields are required when creating a tracking code: the Tracking Code ID and the Tracking Code Type ID. However, at a minimum, you'll want to include a short description, a trackable lifetime and a billable lifetime.

  • Tracking Code ID - Free-form IDRequired. Cannot be changed after creation.
  • Description - A short description.
  • Comments - Additional comments (currently unused).
  • Tracking Code Type ID - Available types: Internal, External and Partner Managed.
  • Marketing Campaign ID - Used to associate this tracking code with an existing Marketing Campaign.
  • Default Product Catalog ID - Used to set the current session's default catalog if this code is detected (and active).
  • From Date and Thru Date - Specifies when the tracking code is active.
  • Redirect URL - If this tracking code is detected by the checkTrackingCodeUrlParam event and found to be active, it will attempt to redirect the user to the specified URL
  • Override Logo URL and Override CSS URL - Currently unused - Set as session attributes, intended for use in co-branding / customization (currently not used).
  • Trackable Lifetime - For how long after the initial visit should future visits be attributed to this tracking code (in seconds). Used to set the expiration date for the tracking code visit cookie.
  • Billable Lifetime - For how long after the initial visit should future orders be attributed to this tracking code (in seconds). Used to set the expiration date for the tracking code order cookie.
  • Group ID and Sub-Group ID - Free- Used form text fields to allow further segment segmenting of tracking codes into groups and sub-groups within a higher level Marketing Campaign.
