Some of the architecture/design topics can get into long discussions on the mailing list and make it difficult to follow the topic or to participate in it. when the threads get too deep. "White board wiki discussion pages capture " page captures the essense of what is being discussed on a thread long hread on the wiki page and provide provides an aggregated view that helps everyone to be on the same page.

These pages also enable everyone in the community to get a better understanding of the topics that are being discussed and enable them to become more actively involved if they wish to.
