SpamAssassin is a mature, widely-deployed open source project that serves as a mail filter to identify spam, also known as unsolicited commercial email (UCE)Spam. SpamAssassin uses a variety of mechanisms including header and text analysis, Bayesian filtering, DNS blocklists, and collaborative filtering databases.

Our Collaborative Manual
The SpamAssassin community has created this collaborative documentation using a Wiki. These pages are edited by the community, and replace the previous FAQ.
Editing pages: To edit pages, please create a user profile for yourself using the UserPreferences page. (You need to register because it helps us prevent wiki spam.) Also, please make yourself a HomePage with your email address on it so you can be contacted if needs be. Once registered, you can edit any page by pressing the link at the bottom of the page.
Capitalized words joined together form a WikiName, which hyperlinks to another page. The highlighted title searches for all pages that link to the current page. Pages which do not yet exist are linked with a question mark: just follow the link and you can add a definition.
About Wiki's: A WikiWikiWeb is a collaborative hypertext environment, with an emphasis on easy access to and modification of information. This one runs on MoinMoin.
