We encourage all community members to contribute actively to the upstream Fineract codebase. All contributions come in the form of a PR (github pull request) referencing a JIRA ticket outlining the intent of the contribution.

This page aims to summarize and point contributors to the process and requirements for submitting a PR which are spread out across a number of places including our Contribution Guidelines. 

The steps below are part of our Github pull request template as a checklist while submitting. Don't treat this as mere boxes to tick off but rather ensure you're following each step so When you create a PR, the description will be pre-populated with a checklist. You are expected to update the description and follow and complete all listed steps, checking off the boxes as you do. This ensures your PR doesn't get rejected and it can reviewed and merged in a timely manner:
