A Geode distributed system is comprised of members distributed over a network to provide in-memory speed along with high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance. Each member consists of a Java virtual machine (JVM) that hosts data and/or compute logic and is connected to other Geode members over a network. Members hosting data maintain a cache consisting of one or more Regions that can be replicated or partitioned across the distributed system.
