Workaround:
Eclipse > Preferences > Scala > Compiler > Build manager
uncheck withVersionClasspathVariablehttps://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-1874
Missing:
import util.parsing.json.JSON
This results in compilation erros in 'core' and its dependent projects.
5. Happy Contributing.
