Making an OpenJPA Release

These instructions guide the release manager through the steps of making an official OpenJPA release.

Note
These instructions are specific to the incubating status of OpenJPA. Once OpenJPA is elevated out of Now that OpenJPA has graduated from incubation, these instructions will need to be updated.

Prerequisites

You should read the OpenJPA Release Policy to decide on the name of the new release, based on the content.
You should have read the Apache Guide To Release Management During Incubation
You must have shell access to people.apache.org
