Algemene opmerkingen 

Apache OpenOffice 4.1.15 is een onderhoudsuitgave met enkele opgeloste problemen en kleine verbeteringen. Alle gebruikers van Apache OpenOffice 4.1.14 of eerder worden sterk geadviseerd om te upgraden. U kunt Apache OpenOffice 4.1.15 hier downloaden. Gebruikers van Windows 10 en 11 kunnen Apache OpenOffice voor geselecteerde talen ook ophalen vanuit de "Microsoft Store"-app.

Bekijk deze Release Notes om te zien wat er nieuw is in deze versie, en ook belangrijke opmerkingen met betrekking tot bekende problemen en hun eventuele oplossingen.

Gebruik alleen de originele website “https://www.openoffice.org/download/” om te downloaden. De geïnstalleerde software kan worden geverifieerd met het vak Info over OpenOffice (zie menu "Help - Info over OpenOffice") door de getallen te vergelijken met de referentiegegevens op de webpagina voor het downloaden (bekijk de tekst in het lichtgroene vak). Voor Apache OpenOffice 4.1.15 moet het zijn "   | Build ID   | Rev.  ".

Belangrijke opmerking:

Het wordt aanbevolen om een back-up te maken van het gebruikersprofiel van Apache OpenOffice als u 4.1.13 of ouder hebt geïnstalleerd en nu AOO 4.1.15 wilt installeren. Dit is in het bijzonder van belang voor gebruikers die de functionaliteit Hoofdwachtwoord (Master Password) gebruiken en later zouden kunnen besluiten om een oudere versie te gaan gebruiken. Er bestaat een kleine kans dat de codering van opgeslagen wachtwoorden in deze uitgave 4.1.15 er voor zorgt dat uw gebruikersprofiel niet langer bruikbaar is in eerdere versies.

In het algemeen is het altijd een goed idee om een back-up te maken van belangrijke en persoonlijke gegevens, dus raden wij aan om altijd een back-up te maken van uw gebruikersprofiel voor OpenOffice voordat u een upgrade naar een nieuwere uitgave uitvoert.

Known Issues

For macOS users

• Apache OpenOffice will be flagged by the Gatekeeper facility in macOS. This is a feature to help guard against malware on Mac systems. The Apache OpenOffice disk images are signed by Apache as required by Apple, but Gatekeeper may still be triggered. If that happens, please follow the below steps.
  • For macOS up to 10.11 “El Capitan”: There is a procedure laid out at the following link to allow applications not installed from the Mac App Store to run. See the Mac support article.

  • For macOS 10.12 “Sierra” and up: In Finder, Control-click or right-click the icon of the app. Select Open from the top of the contextual menu that appears. Click Open in the dialog box. If prompted, enter an administrator name and password. This is needed just the first time you launch Apache OpenOffice.

• Due to a known bug in Oracle Java, installations of Apache OpenOffice on macOS that do not have the legacy Apple Java 6 installed will not be able to recognize Oracle Java 7, 8, and maybe 9. If not able to upgrade to Java 9, then install the legacy version of Apple Java from the following link: Legacy Apple Java 6. This allows the portions of AOO that require Java to run properly.

For Windows Users

• Apache OpenOffice supports Java 8 (32-bit), which is the recommended configuration; but (especially on 64-bit Windows) you might receive warnings about the Java version being defective. In that case, download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86).

• NOTE: You MUST have a 32-bit Java Runtime Environment (JRE) even on a 64-bit machine.

For Linux Users

• When the Apache OpenOffice UI looks old-fashioned (like if it would run on Windows 98 or similar), it is very likely that a specific library is not installed. In a terminal, please check if the package is installed. If not, you have to add it. After a restart of Apache OpenOffice, you should see a much more modern UI.

  Linux with RPM support	Check with "dnf list | grep gdk-pixbuf2-xlib" install with "dnf install gdk-pixbuf2-xlib"
  Linux with DEB support	Check with "apt list --installed | grep gdk-pixbuf-xlib" Install with "apt install libgdk-pixbuf-xlib-2.0-0"

• NOTE: It depends on the used Linux distribution and graphical system. Therefore, the library might have a slightly different name.
