ServiceMix is an open source Apache licensed Enterprise Service Broker (ESB) which is compliant with the Java Business Integration (JBI) specification JSR 208.
The aim of JBI is to allow integration components and services to be integrate in a vendor independent way, allowing users and vendors to plug and play.
ServiceMix is lightweight and easily embeddable, has integrated Spring support can be ran as a standalone ESB provider, as a service within an ESB or within a J2EE application server.
ServiceMix currently has bindings for:
- HTTP
- JMS
- SAAJ (and so Apache Axis)
- WSIF
- ActiveSOAP
- Mule
- JSR223
- Groovy
In addition ServiceMix provides an implementation of WS Notification
