User options of OpenMeetings satisfy to a "gentleman's" set of requirements for web conferencing systems. When entering a demo website user observes the dashboard, see figure below, which by default looks absolutely equal irrespective of where a server part of OM is set up - on a demo website of developers or on a client's server. In the dashboard via menu, links and widgets user can do the following:
- start a new web conference;
- use virtual conference rooms;
- create unlimited number of private virtual rooms via calendar screen;
- write to a chat and read chat messages from other participants;
- send e-mail invitations messages with option of automatic binding to virtual conference room and communicate with other users via the internal mail client, conduct a calendar for scheduling meetings with automatic mailing of invitations to all participants;
- manage directory of meetings recordings;
- test technical capability of his internet connection;
- edit his user profile;
- run a search in a database of OM registered users;
- read a news line of mail groups;
- control a dashboard layout through widgets;
- users with administrator permissions can create an unlimited number of groups, users, public and private virtual rooms for all of them.
