This is Roller's quarterly board report for August 2009. It covers community health, status of our most recent release, work that has been done in the trunk and plans for new work.

Status of work in the trunk

Below are the changes in the trunk since the last report:

• The new Media Blogging additions from Ganesh Mathrubootham (committer) and Tanuja Varkanthe have been merged into trunk.
• A patch from Nathan Beyer helped us to upgrade from OpenJPA 0.97 to OpenJPA 1.2 (not as easy as one might think).

Plans for new work in the trunk

Current plan is to release the the current trunk plus small improvements and bug fixes as Roller 5.0. Here is the current Roller 5.0 propsal on the Roller wiki:

Community health

Status here is mostly unchanged since last report. The community is doing well, but our committers are definitely not as active as they were in the past and we need some new blood.

Dave Johnson's proposal for a What's New in Roller 5.0 talk was accepted for ApacheConUS 2009.
