How do I name my routes?

You can assign names to your routes in Java DSL using routeId

from("direct:start").routeId("myRoute")
    .to(mock:bar);

And in Spring XML using the id attribute:

    <from uri="direct:start"/>
    <to uri="mock:bar"/>
</route>
