Introduction:

Apache CloudStack 4.0.1 is minor release of Cloudstack product release through Apache Software foundation. This release includes

1.  Changes to installer to handle new version
2. Upgrade from CloudStack 4.0
3. Defect Fixes for selected Defects

Test Scope:

Testing include validation of the above mentioned changes.

• Validation of installation procedure on supported platforms – Installation procedure has already been published here - https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/cloudstack/cloudstack+4.0+test+procedure

                    a. CentOS 6.3

                    b. Ubuntu 12.04

• Validation of upgrade from below mentioned platforms. Upgrade procedure has been published here < Procedure TBD>

                   a. Cloudstack 4.0 on supported platforms on supported Hypervisors

                               i.  Xen
                               ii.  KVM
                               iii. VMWare
                               iv.  OVM

• Validation of Defect fixes

• Unit Tests and automated BVTS and integration tests would be run to make sure no regressions are introduced

• Documentation review

               a. Release Notes , Installation Guide,Upgrade procedure

Schedules:

                Validation starts on Dec 1, 2012 and ends on Dec 08, 2012

Resources:

                Installation,  upgrade and defects  will be validated by QA and community members

                Existing HW and SW resources will be used

QA Execution plan:

Test Scope not included:

                Regression of existing features would not be tested unless there is impact identified by defect fixes.

Metrics to be tracked:

                Defect metrics would be tracked along with automation pass and fail rates

Exit Criteria:

1. No blocking defects identified
2. Install and upgrade is successful to be qualified for voting procedure
