What is SCA?

SCA is a set of practical technologies for developing and deploying service-based systems. SCA defines programming models for creating services in a variety of languages including Java, Spring, C++, and PHP. Tuscany has added additional support for Ruby, Python, Javascript and Groovy. SCA also provides mechanisms for composing services into networks, or assemblies, and provisioning them to loosely coupled nodes in a fabric. Finally, SCA defines a means to declaratively apply policy and qualities of service such as reliability, security, and transactions to service invocations.
