[DRAFT] Announcement to committers@

Subject: ApacheCon NA 2016 Travel Assistance Applications now open!
Hi committers@,
The Travel Assistance Committee (TAC) are pleased to announce that travel assistance applications for ApacheCon NA 2016 are now open!
We will be supporting ApacheCon NA, Vancouver BC, May 9th - 13th 2016.
TAC exists to help those that would like to attend ApacheCon events, but are unable to do so for financial reasons. For more info on this years applications and qualifying criteria, please visit the TAC website at < http://www.apache.org/travel/ >. Applications are already open, so don't delay!
This year ApacheCon NA is split into two separate themed events - Apache Big Data and ApacheCon. Due to the small time frame of each event (3 days and 2 days), the Apache Travel Assistance Committee will only be accepting applications from those people that are able to attend BOTH events.
Important: Applications close on Wednesday, March 2, 2016.
Applicants have until the the closing date above to submit their applications (which should contain as much supporting material as required to efficiently and accurately process your request), this will enable TAC to announce successful awards shortly afterwards.
As usual TAC expects to deal with a range of applications from a diverse range of backgrounds. We therefore encourage (as always) anyone thinking about sending in an application to do so ASAP.
We look forward to greeting many of you in Vancouver, BC in May 2016.
Kind Regards

[DRAFT] Website Announcement (not to go live until the full announcement)
ApacheCon NA 2016, Hyatt Regency, Vancouver, BC May 9th - 13th 2016
The Apache Travel Assistance Committee (TAC) are pleased to announce that travel assistance applications for ApacheCon North America 2016 are now open!
We will be supporting ApacheCon NA, Vancouver BC, May 9th - 13th 2016.
To find out more on this and future events, see http://apachecon.com/.
To apply please use the online webapp.
Note that for those needing passports for travel to Vancouver (i.e. non US residents), your passport will need to be valid for at least six months AFTER the event has finished. We would recommend that all applications start to investigate now what procedures and forms you will need, whether or not you will need an interview and how far ahead you need to book that interview. If you are accepted, there will be a fairly short window in which we'll be booking flights, and we will only ticket for people who hold a valid passport and visa, so please ensure you'll be ready for this!
Also please note that Travel Insurance (which includes Medical cover for those traveling overseas) must be obtained.
