1.Introduction

Today in CloudStack, we only support openswan ipsec vpn. As openswan has less support and also does not support OS X client,  from Hollywood release VPN (remote access on isolated and VPC  as well as s-s VPN)will be implemented using strong swan.

2. Objective

Objective of the test plan is to provide the testing approach ,scope ,limitations in testing the VPN using Strong Swan

This test plan also provides a link to Onetest  which has the use cases for testing the feature. The objective is to upload the test results in Onetest as and when testing cycles are completed.

3. Scope

Scope of this testplan is to test the  existing VPN(both s-s and remote access) functionality  with new template supporting openswan.

 

4. Testing Approach:

1. Get the test cases reviewed and uploaded to Onetest.

2. QA will do the sanity testing of the feature as and when the build is available.

3. After completing the Sanity testing QA as to do the feature testing which Includes API ,UI, DB changes, Upgrade testing.

4. Raise the issues and get them verified when fixed.

UI testing.

No change in UI

API testing:

All the APIs related to remote and site to site VPN will be covered

Functional testing:

All the functionality remains same as before.

Only changes needs to be checked is in VR Configuration files

Check for the following file changes:

The below the configuration files get updated in the VR.

  1.  /etc/ipsec.conf
  2. /var/lib/strongswan/ipsec.secrets.inc
  3.  /var/lib/strongswan/ipsec.conf.inc

 

Upgrade testing:

After upgrade the VR reboot should update the new template which supports strong swan.
