Goal / Scope

Clear all potential IP issues in the current code base and make it legally ready to be adopted by the community.

Release Type

Source code only, no binaries, but we'll make sure the infrastructure is good to compile a build. Final release will be a tarball link with the code ready for IP clearance.

Timeline

Nov 2 - Nov 30 (est.) this is a rough estimation at the moment.

Version

2.0.0-beta-incubating, this version has been created on JIRA, please use this value for "Fix Version/s" Column when filing/updating JIRAs that are required for this release.

Process

  • Get feedback from the community on the scope of the release
    email has been sent to dev@hawq.incubator.apache.org on Oct 28th, 2015, no objections so far.
  • Version created on Apache HAWQ JIRA
    2.0.0-beta-incubating version has been created on JIRA and so far tagged with Unable to render Jira issues macro, execution error. ,  Unable to render Jira issues macro, execution error.  
  • Details of this release posted on wiki
  • Start PPMC voting (re-spin if needed)
  • Start IPMC voting (re-spin if needed)
  • Mentor feedback filed in JIRA
  • Tag the trunk(master) with version#
  • Release notes
