MetCat project will develop metadata catalog targeted to be integrated with Apache Airavata project. The project focuses on capturing metadata from workflows and assist in scalable metadata management and user defined queries.

This project is done by students of University of Moratuwa, Srilanka as part of their final year project. The goal is to donate this code to Apache Airavata project and integrate it with Airavata workflow software and continue to develop it further.

The project is currently hosted as Apache Extras MetCat Project.

Goal of the project is
1) To identify one or several of data formats that best fits with two science application domain,
2) Store the data within Cassandra
3) Build enough indexes to support the queries required by the application domain.
