Discusses how to contribute to the iota project through advocacy in social media, meetups, articles, etc.

A common misconception with open-source projects is that you need to be a developer and do development-style work in order to contribute to the project. However, it’s equally important to help build momentum by increasing visibility of the project.  You can do that by sharing information about the project, its capabilities, and its utility and by contributing more materials and samples that others can use to advocate for iota, too. This page gives you the tools to do just that!.

Consider advocacy such as:

  • Participating in the iota user mailing list asking question, making suggestions, describing use cases, etc.

  • Tweet about iota (#iota), including  Hadoop, iot, and other tags where applicable.

  • Tell business contacts about our project and help them understand how iota may help their business problems.

  • Participate in meet-ups and conferences and talk to attendees about iota formally and informally.

  • Build presentations, data sheets, how-to videos, etc. that you can share with others or contribute to iota presentation library.

As a community, we’re all eager to make iota successful. The more people involved, the more we can make that happen.
