Hadoop Key Management Server v2

Introduction

Hadoop Key Management Server currently uses HTTP protocol and compared to Namenode the throughput is less. This version of Key Management service attempts to use Hadoop RPC to get Name node like performance. This will help TDE clients to be as performant and KMS ceases to be the performance bottleneck. Since Ozone uses exactly the same path as HDFS name node to manage TDE, a slow KMS is a problem for Ozone too.


Currently this work is at a prototyping stage and patches are discussed in RPC based KMS Server.
