Corporate Contributor Licence Agreements (CCLA)

If your company as an entity wants to contribute to the project then you will need to has any employees that are contrbuting work to Apache projects (e.g. code, documenation, etc) as part of their employment then it is important that you complete a 'Corporate Contributor Licence Agreement' (CCLA).Many standard employee agreements include clauses that give an employer ownership of any work created by their employees.

By completing the CCLA the employer is waiving any ownership rights of the work their employees contribute to Apache. This is extremely important as it removes any legal doubt over and allows Apache to include these contributions under their licence.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  A Corporate CLA does not remove the need for every developer to sign their own ICLA as an individual, to cover any of their contributions which are not owned by the corporation signing the CCLA.
