The ASF Redbubble Store can be accessed here: https://www.redbubble.com/people/comdev/shop

The ComDev PMC has taken over administration and is responsible for adding any new project logos to the site.

Background

After several discussions regarding an official ASF swag store - it was decided in 2019 to use Redbubble. Having and maintaining a central swag store enables projects to make branded merchandise available to their communities. (https://s.apache.org/jlv5z, https://s.apache.org/acjgn).

All official project logos can be found on https://apache.org/logos/

Important logo characteristics to ease setting up Redbubble

  • Logo width 7200
  • Logo height is multiple of 500
  • On transparent background
  • Logo centred in image (i.e. any padding added to achieve the desired and height should be split equally between top and bottom)

Any project can request their logo to be added to the Redbubble store.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to Tax implications the ASF does not receive any money from the sale of the items on the Redbubble store.

Process to Request a New Project Logo is Added

Requests come from a project.

  1. Email the request to add the new project logo to the Redbubble store to  dev@community.apache.org
  2. The logo provided must be the official one and it must exist in https://apache.org/logos/
  3. The ComDev team will setup the project logo on Redbubble and send a link to the project PMC to review the logo layout on items and approve it
  4. Once approved the items for the new project logo are available for purchase in the Redbubble store

Process to Add a New Project Logo to Redbubble

Maintained by ComDev PMC.

  1. Acknowledge email request to add logo (If the request was not from a PMC member - please ensure the project PMC is copied on the logo add acknowledgement)
  2. Locate Redbubble sign in credentials (available only to ComDev PMC members)
  3. Download project logo from https://apache.org/logos/ (Ensure you take the version that is 7200 x ????  and you know what the image size is!)
  4. Look in the table below to see if the logo size is the same as an existing logo that has been created in the Redbubble Store
  5. If the logo size is the same as an existing logo then this means that the logo placement for the existing logos should general be OK so you will be able to copy the existing Redbubble setup for that logo and upload the project logo to replace the graphics
  6. If the logo size is not the same as an existing logo then it means you will need to need to adjust the logo placement a lot more.
    1. Find an existing logo size that is close as possible to the logo size you have (e.g if the logo size you have is 7200 x 8000 then you use one of the project logos from 7200 x 7500)
    2. Edit each of the item designs to adjust the logo placement until it looks correct
    3. Save the designs
    4. Add the new logo size and project name to the table below (so that if any other project has the same logo size we can re-use the settings)
  7. Email the project PMC with a link to the Redbubble Store page with their new logo designs and ask them to review and approve logo placement
