Overview

OpenOffice.org maintains two repositories, one for extensions and one for templates.
While the two sites are completely independent, Extensions and Templates are to be considered twin sites, in that they use the same technology and were developed by the same people.
Both sites run on Drupal; they were created on Drupal 5, now unsupported (currently supported releases of Drupal are Drupal 6 and Drupal 7, and end-of-life for Drupal 6 will be in 2012 or later); the Templates site has already been updated to Drupal 6, while the Extensions site is still on Drupal 5.
The sites share user accounts, user meta data views are separate for each sub-domain.
The extensions site gets roughly 10x the traffic as the template site.
The sites are hosted in the Oregon State University, Open Source Lab data center.

I sent an email to support@osuosl.org last night and got a response in 30 minutes.

It looks like these two sites are going to need attention whether they are physically moved or the servers transferred to the ASF.
