DNS, Virtual Hosts and Redirects

On the Kenai infrastructure each openoffice.org project was hosted as a subdomain.

On Apache infrastructure each openoffice.org subdomain will be mapped in one of four manners.

1. As a service specially hosted on Apache Software Foundation infrastructure. Examples:
   • Bugzilla
   • User Forums
   • Media Wiki
2. As a service that is hosted in elsewhere. For instance at the OSUOSL:
   • Extensions
   • Templates
3. As a folder on an Apache CMS hosted site - ooo/ooo-site/trunk/content in the project's svn tree.
   • www.openoffice.org -> ooo-site.apache.org <- ooo/ooo-site/trunk/content/.
   • api.openoffice.org -> ooo-site.apache.org/api <- ooo/ooo-site/trunk/content/api/.
4. As a page on the podling's Apache CMS hosted site - ooo/site/trunk/content/openofficeorg in the project's svn tree.
   • contributing.openoffice.org -> incubator.apache.org/openofficeorg/participate/ <- ooo/site/trunk/content/openofficeorg/participate/.

As migration occurs openoffice.org subdomains will be remapped to either services or virtual hosts.
