Apache Karaf 2nd Meeting (2012-01-04)

The first Apache Karaf meeting was in June, 2011.

During this first meeting, we agreed to make such kind of meeting around every 6 months.

It's a good time to make a review on this past year and prepare the future.

This meeting will stand over Skype on Wednesday, 04th of January, 2012, at 18:00GMT.

Agenda

The following points will be discussed:

• Introduction of participants
  Each participant will introduce quickly
• Summary about the Karaf activities during Q3 and Q4 2011
  It includes the website and download activity, mailing list activities, and Jira activities.
  A quick summary about the major enhancements/improvements made will be performed.
• Next release planning
  Discussion about the release planning, define an agenda about the 3.0.0/3.1.0 release plan, 2.2.x release (maintenance cycle), creation of the 2.3.x branch.
• Technical and Architecture roadmap
  Discussion about the major changes to start to implement in Karaf, especially:
  • OSGi r4.3 updates and enhancements (subsystems, etc)
  • Region
  • Sub-shell and profiles
  • Focus on Pax Web, Pax Exam Karaf, Pax URL
  • ...
• Summary about Karaf subprojects status:
  • Status and introduction to EIK
  • Status and new release about Cellar
  • Status and questions about Cave (and relationship with Apache Archiva)
  • Status and update about WebConsole
