To run an individual Hive compatibility test:

SPARK_HIVE=true sbt/sbt -Dspark.hive.whitelist="testname.*" "hive/test-only org.apache.spark.sql.hive.execution.HiveCompatibilitySuite"

where testname.* is a pattern that matches the tests that you want to run.
