The Spark 2.0 release window is the following:

| Jan 2016 | Merge window opens on master branch |
| May 1 2016 | Code freeze. Release branch cut. |
| May 2016 | QA period. Focus on bug fixes, tests, stability and docs. Generally, no new features merged. |
| late May / early June 2016 | RCs, voting, etc. until final release passes |
