To prevent spam, contributors must request Jira and Confluence accounts via the self-serve portal

PMC members must review account requests and approve or reject them based on the provided reason.

If a request is approved, the corresponding permissions must be granted to the new account.

For Jira:

  1. Go to the Users and Roles page
  2. Click on the Add users to a Role button
  3. Enter the newly approved username in the "Users or groups" field
  4. Select Contributors for the role
  5. Click on Add


For Confluence:

  1. Go to the Permissions page
  2. Click on the Edit Permissions button in the Individual Users section
  3. Confirm your credentials
  4. At the bottom of the Individual Users, enter the newly created username and click on Add
  5. Once the page reloads, find the newly created username in the Individual Users list
  6. Check the View/All, Pages/Add, Blog/Add, Attachments/Add, Comments/Add (the 1st, 4rd, 5th, 7th and 9th columns)
  7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save All button
  8. Once complete, click on the Drop Access button in the header
