    What should be the final feel of the website?

    1) Attractive, trendy, colorful

    or

    2) Simple, plain, purpose serving?

    What is the technology we are going to use?

    1. Content management system like Joomla?
    2. Proprietary software like Dreamweaver?
    3. From fundamentals like HTML, CSS etc?
    4. Are we going to use HTML 5 or 4.x?

      We need to keep everything under version control in SVN and be able to compare files, so options #1 and #2 are discouraged (#1 would store the site content in a database, #2 would impose requirements on authors and produce redundant code). So #3 seems the best option.

      As for the HTML version, we can surely embrace HTML5 if we undertake a rewrite.
