Motivation

Ignite has many features that either is abandoned, unstable or lack of support via community.

To deal with such kind of technical debt we should remove those features from the Ignite codebase.

Removals will lead to breaking changes in public API.

Description

This IEP intended to be umbrella for the improvements that should be done in Ignite 2.x and leads to

  • breaking changes in public API and/or behavior.
  • huge refactoring of the internals.


For those changes we agreed on the following algorithm:

  • Ignite 2.[x] - deprecate the API + notification of the users.
  • Ignite 2.[x+1] - API removal.
