Internationalization
OFBiz is used all over the world by people of different languages and cultures - due to its strong support of internationalization. That support is acheived by:
- Keeping the text that appears in the user interface in "label files" that contain text translations.
- Using the ICU4J library.
Developers should take the time to read Sun's Java Internationalization Website and the ICU4J Website.
General guidelines for OFBiz internationalization can be found here:
When creating labels to be translated keep in mind that languages do not always use the same type of grammar, syntax and way to build sentences. Thus it's far better to translate sentences than words.
For instance in French, German, Russian, etc., all words have a gender (masculine or feminine, not only neutral as in most words in English), actually most languages derived from indo-european language have words gender (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender

As an example : forecast, which is neutral in English, is feminine in French (most words gender are arbitrary, but it's not the point). So when you get something like
${uiLabelMap.CommonCreateNew} ${uiLabelMap.SfaSalesForecast}
you are caught in all languages where forecast has a gender :/
Please take this into account because it's much harder afterward to fix.
