With The Open for Business Project finsihing up the loose ends for a final move towards graduation from the Apache Incubator and a formal release to 4.0.0 to commemorate this event, it begs the question "what's next"?

Since the Open for Business Project being a community effort this is often times dificult to forcast.  Progression in the past has for the most part been spurred by individual need, indiviudal resource availability, and community improvement (subject to individual resources).  This is evident from the five year 3.x status of the project.  No doubt had this been at the whim of a single entity, the marketing department would have us earmarked many of the milestones with newer release numerals.  While the individual need/resource model will no doubt continue to be a central tennent of improvement, the project is coming to a critical mass where we are seeing more collaboration on certain areas of improvement and can perhaps better forcast and communicate the community's desire for the direction of the project.

Alice came to the fork in the road.
"Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat.
"I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter." - Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Because OFBiz encompasses so many different areas of business and other management it is dificult to assign specific release points.  One area of the project may change very little while another area may experience tremendous flux and growth.  The following pages will attempt to specify what goals be reached to warrant the effort of a new release.   Please use this page to propose a proper community structure (methods of proposing a release point, community voting regs, etc)  Thanks to everyone for making this project as successful as it has been already and to all of the future contributors that will make this project what it will be tomorrow.
